Description

Slow-cooked beef - suitable for shredding and doing whatever with - especially good as french dip sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 4 lb beef tip sirloin roast, cut in half (I’ve used London Broil, too.)
  • 1 cn beef broth (14.5 oz.)
  • 1 cn can of beer (12 oz) (this is very important!)
  • 1 c water
  • 1⁄4 c cider vinegar
  • 1 pk onion soup mix
  • 1 pk Italian salad dressing mix
  • 1 clv garlic minced
  • 1 1⁄2 t dried oregano
  • 1 t dried basil

Instructions

Place roast in a 5 qt. slow cooker. Combine the broth, beer, water, vinegar, soup mix, salad dressing mix, garlic, oregano and basil. Pour over roast. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hrs. until meat is tender. Remove the roast. When cool enough to handle, shred meat, using two forks. Return to slow cooker and heat through. Using slotted spoon or serving fork, place meat on sandwich roll. Serve juices as a dipping sauce.
